Tito returns to Venice for the first time after he was mutilated at age eleven, only to solve an operatic murder while triumphing on the stage, finding a new role in his family, and coming to terms with who he is.
Painted Veil 2005
When a visiting star usurps his lead role, Tito investigates the murder of a roguish scene painter. Aided by Englishman Gussie Rumbolt, Tito matches wits with the masked leader of a secret society bent on the destruction of Venice's Jewish ghetto.
Cruel Music 2006
With his merchant brother held hostage by Venetian authorities, Tito is forced to spy at the villa of a Roman cardinal who will control the upcoming election of the next Pope. The discovery of a beautiful corpse in the cardinal's garden complicates Tito's mission.
The Iron Tongue of Midnight
2008
A mysterious invitation leads Tito to rehearse a new opera at an isolated villa. He's just settled in when, at the foreboding toll of midnight, a soprano stumbles over a dead body.
Her Deadly Mischief 2009
As Tito sings an impassioned aria, a courtesan tumbles over a box railing to her death. Did a mischievous wager over a rival's jewels grow deadly? Or did the motive involve sinister events in the glass factories of Murano?
